Release Michu: The one with the Match Centre
Release Michu is here! And, much like its namesake, it holds a special place in our hearts.
It’s a product release that we’ve been looking forward to internally for quite some time.
With Michu – our latest Twenty3 Toolbox release – we are excited to introduce our brand new, live Match Centre tool.
I’ll keep the notes here fairly high level as there are a couple of articles below that will give further detail and more of a view as to what the Match Centre contains, but we’re looking forward to seeing our media customers make the most of this new feature each and every gameweek.
NEW: Match Centre
Our new dedicated hub for all of your live blogging and game analysis needs, easing the pressure that we know live content creation brings.
Check out our reveal article here for more information.
- Match Lists & Key Event Updates – See a full list of matches and receive update notifications on key events like goals, red cards and missed penalties.
- Match Overview – View team-level data for a match like scores, match momentum, lineups and customisable stats.
- Player Overview – Customisable player-level stats as well as the ability to rank and highlight top performers.
- Passing Matrix – View top combinations between players.
- Visualisations – Interactive visualisations are here! View, interact and filter events like shots, touches, average positions and more. All the things you love about the Visualisation library, but now with added interactivity.
- Match Graphics – With the Match Centre we’ve integrated a stripped back, lightweight version of Smart Graphics to allow you to export all your branded match content in as few steps as possible. For more information on these, check out this article.
Event Lab
For a refresher on what exactly the Event Lab is, you can read my introduction to the tool here.
This is also a good example of how a professional analyst can use it in player recruitment.
In Release Michu, we’ve made some significant improvements to the tool – with more to come – which I’ve listed below.
- Overhauled ‘View’ architecture to drastically improve performance and load times for data stored in Views. This should make the Event Lab far snappier when interacting with your saved Views. This marks the first of a series of performance improvements to the Event Lab that we plan to roll out over future releases.
- Added Event Second as a column when exporting data out of the Event Breakdown modal so as to allow users to align events with match timings for things like video analysis.
Other
- Various bug fixes and performance improvements
- Updated translations for Spanish, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese for our Wyscout users.
If you would like to know more about any of the features or fixes listed above or would like to hear about what we have planned in the future then please feel free to get in touch.
